Greetings fellow rescuers, adventurers, and aspiring guides! This is the official technical e-manual for Colorado Mountain College’s (CMC) Rope Rescue Certification and Wilderness EMS Certification and The Wildguide’s Rope Rescue Workshops.
This manual is used for the following courses CMC courses: Wilderness Technical Rescue, High Angle Rescue, Alpine Mountain Rescue & CMC special topic courses (guide rescue skills, advanced high angle).
To ensure the highest quality experience as your maneuver your way through this e-manual, please make sure to:
- Have a high-speed internet connection (e-manual will work on smartphones also).
- Dial in the correct size font for your best viewing experience! Do this by pressing Command and + or – on Mac and Control and + or – on PC.
- If a video or link is not playing, most likely it is your browser. Safari and Firefox both seem to work well. If you have tried refreshing your browser and have a high-speed connection and a future still doesn’t work properly, let me know right away and I am happy to assist!
- I recommend working your way through each chapter chronologically, as each chapter builds working concepts for successive chapters.
- Make sure you have completed all the required assessments prior to showing up for the field days. A portion of your CMC grade is dependent on you having completed the enclosed assignments.
- For the Wilderness Technical Rescue Class:
- Read and Complete all assignments in Chapters 1-7
- Read Appendix A, the Medical Skills Chapter.
- Objectives in BLUE are for Wilderness Technical Rescue
- For the High Angle Rescue Class:
